 The working class on a world scale is confronted with a relentless
assault by the propertied rulers who are driven by the crisis of their profit
system to go after our wages and ramp up “productivity.”
 
   This historic crisis, still in its initial stages, is not one of banking
and finance, but is rooted in a slowdown of production and trade, and has
resulted in massive unemployment.
 
   Using the slogan “We are the 99%” the Occupy movement and the Obama
administration alike have put forward demands for reform of capitalism, from
its banking system to taxation.
 
Join a discussion on:
·         Why “1% vs. 99%” actually covers up the real class
antagonisms and social relations under capitalism. 
 
·         Why the resistance of working people, from the strikes to
the fight against lockouts, is the most important factor in politics today.
 
·         How that resistance poses the question of working people
taking political power out of the hands of the capitalist class.
