The Coolidge Corner Theatre will present a preview screening of the new
feature documentary Pink Ribbons, Inc. on Wednesday, June 20 at 7:00 p.m.
The film will open at the Coolidge on Friday, June 22.

Directed by veteran filmmaker Léa Pool, Pink Ribbons, Inc. shows how the
devastating reality of breast cancer has become the poster child of
corporate cause-related marketing campaigns. Countless women and men walk,
bike, climb and shop for the cure. Each year, millions of dollars are raised
in the name of breast cancer, but where does this money go and what does it
actually achieve?  Despite the ubiquitous pink ribbon campaigns, breast
cancer rates are rising, prevention is vastly underfunded, and chemotherapy
and surgery treatments have improved only incrementally over the decades.

Following the screening, Catherine DeLorey, former board member of Breast
Cancer Action, will moderate a panel discussion with:

Cancer Coalition 
*	Rachel Danford, researcher, Silent Spring Institute
*	Joanna Weiss, writer, Boston Globe 
*	Ellen Leopold, Women's Community Cancer Project, author, A Darker
Ribbon: Breast Cancer, Women, and Their Doctors in the Twentieth Century,
and interviewee from the film
