Precious Knowledge documents Tucson High School’s students and teachers at
the front line of an epic civil rights battle: the banning of their beloved
Mexican American Studies Program. Mexican American youth in the program had
higher graduation & college matriculation rates, loved learning their
history and became leaders in their community. However in 2010, due to
anti-immigrant sentiment in Arizona, Gov. Brewer and Superintendent Horne
pushed a ban of Ethnic Studies. The film follows students and teachers and
their community organizing to try to stop the ban and reclaim their
