Phyllis Bennis is a Fellow of the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, where she directs the New Internationalism Program. She writes for The Nation and is a frequent guest on "Democracy Now" and NPR's Diane Rehm news programs. Her areas include U.S. foreign policy, especially the Middle East (Israel-Palestine, Iraq and Iran) and U.S. relations with the United Nations. She was lead author of the IPS report, "Quagmire: The Mounting Costs of the Iraq War and the Case for Bringing Home the Troops." She is also a Fellow of the Transnational Institute in Amsterdam.
