Dear friends,
encuentro5 invites Boston’s
progressive<http://dailycaller.com/2010/11/09/can-progressives-define-what-to-be-a-progressive-actually-means/>and
nonprofit <http://chriscoyier.net/2010/06/17/nonprofit/> community and
local progressive organizations to a series of Brown Bag Lunches exploring
the many facets of non-profit organizations and social justice, spreading
networks, and encouraging collaboration.
Our upcoming Brown Bag Lunch presentation is next Thursday, October 24th at
1pm with the *Chica Project*. We hope you'll join us! You can view our
previous BBLS event with Renata Teodoro of the Student Immigrant Movement
at live.encuentro5.org
Bi-Monthly presentations will be offered on the 2nd and 4th Thursday
throughout the year. Each event lasts one hour: a 30 minute presentation
and 30 minute discussion/Q & A.

Clean Water Action (with Green Justice Coalition)
Working through the Green Justice Coalition to protect the environment,
health, economic well-being and community quality of life. Goals include
clean, safe and affordable water; prevention of health threatening
pollution; creation of environmentally safe jobs and businesses; and
empowerment of people to make democracy work.

Color of Water Project
Water is essential to life. Securing the human right to affordable and
reliable water services for all Boston residents, in response to U.N.
supported research that reveals discrepancies of access security in local
neighborhoods of color.
This series is a partnership between encuentro5 and other non-profits and
community groups from the Greater Boston region. The aim is to serve as a
resource to the progressive community, providing education and networking
opportunities, and to advance the goals of the presenting organizations. As
whole, the series aims to build greater cross-issue awareness and
cooperation.

Unfortunately, e5’s current transitional location is not wheelchair
accessible. However, events will also be live-streamed on
live.encuentro5.org and conference calling will be available for remote
participation. Please let us know ahead of time and we will be happy to
arrange accommodations.
The *Brown Bag Lunch Series* is free to the public. Guests are encouraged
to bring their lunch; coffee/tea will be provided by encuentro5.
