Pat Tillman never thought of himself as a hero. His choice to leave a 
multimillion-dollar football contract and join the military wasn't done 
for any reason other than he felt it was the right thing to do. The fact 
that the military manipulated his tragic death is unfathomable and 
thoroughly explored in Amir Bar-Lev's riveting and enraging documentary.

Pat Tillman gave up his professional football career to join the Army 
Rangers in 2002 -- and became an instant symbol of patriotic fervor. But 
the truth about Pat Tillman is far more complex, and ultimately far more 
heroic, than the caricature created by the media.

When the US tried to turn his death into propaganda, they took on the 
wrong family. From her home in Santa Cruz mountains, Pat's mother,
