Friday, March 13, 7:30 pm · Nearly 6,600 members of the United Steelworkers are on strike for safety at 15 petrochemical facilities, including 12 refineries – the first nationwide oil strike since 1980.· Protests, including recent actions by OUR Walmart, backed by the United Food and Commercial Workers union forced Walmart to boost pay. Workers at Walmart continue to fight for full-time hours and a union.· Rail workers are resisting the bosses’ moves to cut crews on trains to one person, fighting for safety for themselves and others.· Boston school bus driver union beats back frame-up charges against local union leader and founder Steve Kirschbaum.· How the modest increase in hiring is boosting workers’ confidence and making it harder for the bosses to use the threat of unemployment against us.
