The Chinese Revolution was one of the most important historic events of the
20th century and a great step forward for humanity. Its impact is hugely
felt today. This gigantic social movement culminated in the founding of
the People's Republic of China on Oct. 1, 1949 when Chairman Mao
proclaimed, "China has stood up." Great progress has been made in the
economy, standard of living and education while great challenges also
remain. Today China promotes a multi-polar world and resists US
imperialism's striving for global dominance. The Communist Party of China
is again reaching out to working class organizations around the world.

Film footage will be followed by speakers and discussion
