*- A Salute to the Shaheen Baghs in India and International Working Women's
Day," (celebrated around the world on March 8th.)*

In India, thousands of women have come out to protest the discriminatory
Citizens Amendment Act (CAA) 2019.

Shaheen Bagh in Delhi has become the epicenter of resistance and has
inspired women all over India to organize similar protests.

Padma and Pratyush will discuss CAA 2019 and its relationship with National
Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR). CAA not
only officially excludes but also marginalizes the people of Muslim faith,
the largest of India's religious minorities of approximately 200 million
people.

They will discuss how CAA, along with NRC and NPR, will set up the most
discriminatory legal framework which will fundamentally change the basic
terms of Indian citizenship.

-Also discussion of the STRIKE in India of 250+ million workers on January
8th, the largest in world history!

-Trump's Feb 24th meeting with Prime Minister Modi, giving the green light
for a state-sponsored, anti-muslim rampage

-The origins of International Women's Day and salute by community women
activists
