*New Insights Into the Fall of the Soviet Union and Weakening of the World
Labor Movement*
Wadi'h Halabi, CPUSA and Center for Marxist Education

A Marxist understanding of the weakening of the world labor movement and
fall of the Soviet Union is essential for humanity to resume the transition
from capitalism to socialism.

This presentation opens with -- "What problems did the Bolshevik party face
as of November 7, 1917?" One clue: There were fewer than 10,000 cadres in
the Bolshevik party in February 1917. Nine months later it was in power!

The parallels and differences between the Russian and Chinese Revolutions
are illuminating, and have far-reaching implications for practice. Bring a
notebook and your doubts, and count on a lively discussion.
