*Oct 24-25, 2020 - SpeakOUT Fall Online Speaker Training: Become a Voice
for Change! *Since 1972, SpeakOUT has brought committed and enthusiastic
LGBTQ+ folks together in empowering trainings to share our personal stories
and to learn how to engage with a variety of audiences. Using the Zoom
format, what is usually a one-day session will be split into two partial
days. The training will focus on valuable skills such as setting the right
tone, shaping and telling a story, overcoming fear, working with your
co-speaker, and answering difficult questions. Participants will work in
large groups as well as small breakout sessions with experienced speakers
to hone their story over the two days. SpeakOUT is a community of speakers
working to create a world free of homo-bi-transphobia and other forms of
prejudice by telling the truths of our lives to various clients in the
Boston area and beyond. Everyone has a story to tell and sharing each
other’s stories is part of the power of the SpeakOUT training experience.
Cost: $50 standard; $25 for seniors/students. Inquire about sliding scale
