In this presentation, Indonesian women's rights activist Anindya Joediono
will discuss the history of the Indonesian socialist women's movement
before the coup d'etat in 1965. At that time, Indonesian women had greatly
contributed to the national liberation and became a strong political base.

What kind of political programs and agendas they had offered to the people?
How could they successfully mobilize millions of Indonesian women, with
most of them being peasants? Could their movement strategies and agendas be
used in today's context? If so, what's their relevance to the current
global women's movement?
