Dear All,

Despite plans to double the number of students on campus for the Spring
semester, Harvard has announced
<https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2020/12/9/bacow-contract-workers/#.X9DH3JfSryk.link>
it will slash the incomes of hundreds of custodial, security, and dining
service employees in the middle of the pandemic. Pres. Laurence Bacow
attempts to justify these cruel attacks on workers & families in the face
of Harvard's vast endowment of almost $42 billion, more money than ever.

Please mask up, bundle up, spread out & join workers and supporters today
(Weds) in Harvard Yard at 12 noon for a rally & march (face coverings &
social distancing required).

Please also call / email Harvard President Laurence Bacow at 617-495-1502,
president at harvard.edu;

Executive VP Katie Lapp at 617-495-1524, evp at harvard.edu;

HBS Dean Nitin Nohria at 617 495-6550, nnohria at hbs.edu.

Suggested message:

*I demand Harvard back off from plans to cut the incomes of hundreds of
workers during the pandemic. Harvard can well afford to act responsibly
during this public health crisis*.

In Solidarity,

Geoff Carens, Union Rep, HUCTW / AFSCME Local 3650 [personal capacity]
(they / them)
