Dear All,

HUCTW* member Kevin Harrington's boss gave him all the responsibilities of
setting up a new Harvard laboratory, then told him to fit them in his
regular schedule, supporting three other labs & faculty. When this proved
impossible, the boss initially refused to pay Kevin for all the extra hours
he worked. Although Harvard finally paid him, many weeks late, the boss is
now taking revenge by initiating disciplinary action against Kevin.

*Kevin faces retaliatory discipline in a Zoom meeting tomorrow (Wed),
simply because he insisted on being paid for hours he worked! *Kevin is a
dedicated employee with 11+ years' experience at HU.

Please call & email Harvard's Director of Labor Relations, Paul Curran, at
617-496-9193 / paul_curran at harvard.edu.

Suggested message:

"I am troubled to hear that Harvard has threatened HUCTW member Kevin
Harrington with disciplinary action --during the pandemic! -- because he
asked to be paid for overtime hours. Harvard can well afford to pay all its
workers fairly. Please use your influence to ensure that justice is done in
Kevin's case."

Please cc me on your emails at geoff.carens at gmail.com. Please forward this
message as widely as possible!!

In Solidarity,

Geoff Carens, Union Rep, HUCTW / AFSCME Local 3650
