The biggest general strike ever of 250 million workers in India on
November 26, 2020 and the historic ongoing agitation by Indian farmers
have won the hearts and minds of people all over the world. The farmers
are demanding the repeal of 3 new farm laws which will expand the
dominance of large corporations and agribusiness. The protests are
seeking legal guarantee for minimum support price (MSP) for all crops.
These mobilizations have involved hundreds of thousands of farmers and
have also included opposition parties, central trade unions, dalits,
students, youth, and women’s organizations. Please join BMDC for an
online event featuring an Indian guest speaker on the general strike and
the ongoing farmers movement.
