Every year there are "Old Home Day" events in Northern New England. "Old Home Day" is a civic holiday with picnics, fireworks and parades. Supporters of the demand that the federal govenment restore legal abortion nationwide NOW! have secured a permit to participate in this year's parade in Londonderry, NH, which is attended by several thousand people.

We have set up an Action Network events page and have linked it tto the facebook account for RU4AR and fo REfuse Fascism.  The link is below.  Please register and share as broaly as you can.

There will be politician, marching bands, firetrucks AND a powerful contingent declaring: The Federal Government Must Restore NATIONWIDE LEGAL ABORTION NOW! The overturning of abortion rights is ILLEGITIMATE! It must not stand! and calling on others to join us in the streets. We will be gathering at 9:30 and the parade begins at 10:00. If you have a handmaid's costume, wear it! If you have a musical instrument, bring it. We will have placards and banners but feel free to make your own. And make sure to wear green!

We mean to make it clear to all. The state has no right to force women and girls to have children against their will. To treat women’s wombs as sites of surveillance. To hunt down, put on trial and imprison women who are accused of inducing their own abortions. Forced Motherhood = Female Enslavement. Roe v. Wade itself was the result of mass struggle in the streets.

And across Latin America, women are decriminalizing abortion by waging fierce struggle in the streets! This is what is needed now! We must Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights NOW! We must fill the streets again and again in massive, sustained and growing nonviolent protest. We must make clear to those in power that we will sooner bring the gears of society to a grinding halt through mass nonviolent resistance than to accept the horror of forced motherhood.

This parade is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the nationwide movement to restore abortion rights. It is a family friendly event and while we may have to watch our language, we don't have to curb our passion. Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights!
