There seems to be a disturbing increase in Islamophobia, racism and attitudes against women in the current presidential election season, and a rise in extremism among some Muslims around the world. The women's auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Greater Boston has been hosting Quran exhibitions and seminars to present a peaceful alternative -- the inclusive and peaceful message of the Holy Quran.

Participating in this symposium will be the National African-American Desk of the Community.

When? Saturday, 05/28/16, 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Where? Mattapan Branch of the Boston Public Library, 1350Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan, MA 02126

(Free and open to the public; free refreshments/lunch)

Presentations:

    1. "Universality of Islam"

    2. "The Holy Quran: A Message of Peace"

    3. "The Holy Quran: Resolving Challenges to Peace"

The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion and luncheon with members to get to know Islam and Muslims.

The event on Saturday is part of a month-long exhibition of the Holy Quran (May 28 to June 30), which features copies of the Holy Quran in various languages and verses displayed in beautiful calligraphy. Complimentary copies of books and pamphlets on Islam will be available.
