Fellow Activists,
On Monday, 2017-Sept-25 @ 6 - 8:30 PM, in the Auditorium at Christ Church /
Cambridge (Zero Garden St.), Harvest Co-op will hold a Special Member Meeting to
determine the future of our Co-op.
Several very important issues are up for Member discussion and approval. In
general, the Harvest Real Co-op Initiative wants a change in Direction for our
Co-op, including a change in Leadership, a change in Bylaws and a change in
Policy. In specific, we propose to remove the current Directors by end-dating
their terms. This will allow a fair and honest election for a new Board, which
we expect will implement a change in Direction toward a Member-centered Co-op, a
Real Co-op.
The Complete list of topics and details of Motions are available here:
http://www.harvest.coop/special-meeting-of-harvest-members/
If you have any belief in co-ops as vital to any post revolutionary future, then
now is the time to show it. If you have never come to a co-op meeting before,
then come to this one, even if you never come to another. Please come and
express your belief that co-ops need to be more co-operative and less
hierarchical.
If anyone wants details on why we should replace the whole Board and what we
should do instead, then please send me (rwayneclark at igc.org) an email and I will
respond with anything that you would want to know about this situation. If you
want to join the Harvest Real Co-op Initiative [RCI] (a private GoogleGroup,
open only by invitation), just send an email to HarvestRealCoop at gmail.com and we
will get you signed up. Harvest RCI discusses topics of importance to Harvest,
but also topics related to Member-centered co-ops throughout the co-op movement.
In struggle, Wayne.
