Did you know that the US & Belgium assassinated the first democratically
elected leader of the Congo? Join the Uhuru Solidarity Movement Boston
to learn more about Patrice Lumumba at this benefit film night for the
“All Diamonds are Blood Diamonds” tour (coming to Boston Sat 2/23)

Lumumba was an uncompromising anti-colonial leader of African people to
liberate Congo from the clutches of imperialist Belgium. On January 17,
1961 he was assassinated by a firing squad in execution-style by the
Belgian and US military. Belgian tried to cover up the murder for
decades, knowing that African people around the world would resist in
protest of this murder.

USM Boston is holding this film screening to honor the legacy of Patrice
Lumumba in defending the land and resources of the Congo belonging to
African people. Donations raised at this event will go to the logistical
costs of the Boston event of the national speaking tour, “All Diamonds
are Blood Diamonds”, organized by the Uhuru Solidarity Movement in
Feb-March 2019.

Traveling to 10 cities around the country with leaders from the African
People’s Socialist Party & African People’s Solidarity Committee, the
presentations will speak on the history of the imperialist diamond trade
and resource extraction in Africa of which jewelry companies, the tech
industry, and white people everywhere profit from this exploitation of
African labor. Register for the Boston event at
