Come see our new video and hear about the campaign to stop excision in Mali

Tuesday, April 24 at 7:00 pm at 14 William Street (off College
Avenue, between Davis and Powderhouse Squares), Somerville, MA.

Come see the new video, "I Abandon," and a news piece about a Malian
village that decided together to end excision. Hear updates on the
campaign to stop FGM, a practice which endangers the health and lives
of millions of women and girls in Africa. In the video, 18
ex-excisers sing about stopping FGM, bury their knives, and dance in
celebration.

Susan McLucas is just back from three months in Bamako, Mali, where
she works with the Malian NGO Sini Sanuman ("Healthy Tomorrow" in the
local language) fighting against female genital mutilation (FGM),
also called excision. Susan has been working much of the last 10
years in Mali. She produced a new music video with ex-excisers, to
be shown on national TV in Mali and across West Africa.

Sini Sanuman has 45 partner groups in the Pledge Against Excision
campaign in Mali. They now have 23,000 signatures on the Pledge,
which they will turn in to the legislature, in an ongoing effort to
outlaw FGM on the national level.

Contributions of any size are urgently needed to help stop FGM.
Tax-deductible checks can be made out to "Creative Thought and
Action," our fiscal sponsor.
