Welcome compas of Boston to the fourth monthly Peña Rebelde. Come share with
Ernesto “Eroc” Arroyo the hip-hop poetry of his soul, as one of Boston’s
premier “conscious” rappers lights up encuentro 5 with his unmistakable
voice—bilingual and rebelde.



The Peña is a communal tradition in music and poetry, typified by the spirit
of collectivity and anti-authoritarianism. We invite you heartily to bring
poems, songs, or whatever alights you, whether original or the work of
others.



As our Peña Rebelde evolves we begin looking at the roots of the performing
musicians. Our featured guest each month will interview with organizers to
recollect their musical roots. (See Eroc’s interview
HERE<http://openmediaboston.org/node/1913>where he discusses his
musical beginnings and the fire he brings to hip-hop
culture.)



The performance will begin with a representation of those roots, leading
into the artist’s current work and followed by an open circle.



$5 is requested at the door to help support our artists and e5.
Puerto Rican food will be available as well as refreshments.
