Marcus Rediker, the historian who wrote about pirates and the democracy they established in the early 1700s will be speaking at the University of New England - Biddeford campus on Monday, March 5, at 12 noon.  The title of the lecture is "Rethinking the Amistad Rebellion".  The lecture will be held in the St. Francis Room in Ketchum Library, lower level, on the Biddeford campus.

The lecture at UNE is free and open to the public.

Parking can be dicey, so visitors may want to stop at the welcome house (a traditional shingled cape, on the left just after the turning onto Hills Beach Road) to get a parking permit.
