April 4: AFSC-Peace Action Forum "The 1% - What's NATO Got to Do with I?: Afghanistan, Libya, Russia, Iran, China & Economic Injustice".

Change of Speakers:

      We are happy to be announcing that Elaine Bernard, of Harvard's Labor and Worklife Program and Democratic Socialists of America will be speaking in palce of Ellen Frank in the AFSC-Peace Action forum "The 1% - What's NATO Got to Do with I?: Afghanistan, Libya, Russia, Iran, China & Economic Injustice", this coming Wednesday evening. April 4. (Ellen Frank had to cancel owing to a scheduling conflict.)

    Elaine will be joining Vijay Prashad, of Trinity University and author of "Arab Spring, Libyan Winter" and Joseph Gerson, of AFSC and author of "Empire and the Bomb" in this program which will explore the deep connections between the U.S. and global economies and U.S. foreign and military polices. 

    The forum will be held between 7:00 & 9:00 p.m. at the Cambridge Friends Meeting, 5 Longfellow Park, just off of Brattle St. a few blocks up from Harvard Square.

    The forum is one of many being organized around the country in the run up to the May 18-19 Counter-Summit for Peace and Justice to be held in Chicago. (For more information see www.natofreesummit.org.)
