What are you doing on Labor Day?   (Sept. 3)     It's  a wonderful day to celebrate working people and economic justice.

EVENT:  Bread and Roses Heritage Festival

PLACE:   Campagnone Common, 200 Common Street,  Lawrence,  Massachusetts

DATE and TIME:   Monday,  Sept. 3,   from noon to 6:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:   This is the 100th anniversary year for the famous "bread and roses" textile workers strike in Lawrence.   Long before the days of Occupy Wall Street, thousands of immigrants protested against economic oppression.  Women provided much of the leadership for the Lawrence strike.    The Labor Day festival in Lawrence is a multicultural celebration that includes entertainment, food,  family activities, special exhibits, and information about the history of progressive movements in Massachsetts.     Everything is free.
