Creative action is what CODE PINK co-founder Medea Benjamin is all about!
An advocate for social justice for more than 30 years, Medea has been
described as “one of America's most committed – and most effective –
fighters for human rights” and “one of the high profile leaders of the
peace movement.”
Medea is a leader in challenging the powerful forces of lobby groups, from
AIPAC to the NRA, and weapons manufacturers which have a near death grip on
the policies coming out of Washington.
Recently returned from solidarity trips to Gaza and to protest U.S. drone
strikes in Pakistan, Medea will discuss the state of the Obama
administration's foreign policy, including the implications of U.S. drone
warfare; the need to force a contraction of the Pentagon budget and move us
into an economy based on peaceful coexistence and preserving the planet; and
the role of peace activists in exacting these changes.
Sliding scale donation $5-$10; no one turned away. Proceeds after expenses
will be donated to legal expenses of anti-drone protesters.
