It's past time for us to stand up and defend what is rightfully ours.

We call on a broad range of justice and freedom organizers, organizations
and coalitions to come together to fight an out of control government that
kills, imprisons and spies as if we are the enemy. We are the people. 

The government tells us to be afraid. It spies and harasses and imprisons.
It murders and tortures. 

But we won't be afraid. We know that our rights are like muscles, and if we
do not flex them, we will lose them.

Whether your major concern is the climate or the wars, abortion rights or
gun rights, know this: You will fail to achieve your aims if the government
carries on entrenching this militarized police state, a surveillance state
more capable and powerful than anything the East German Stasi ever could
have dreamed of.

Courage is contagious. We must be brave now.

Join us on July 4, 2013. Bring your crew. If your work concerns the climate,
bring your banners and puppets to educate the city about climate change. If
you are outraged about the drone bombings, bring fliers talking about those
injustices. We will have banners and signs voicing opposition to the police
state and the surveillance regime.

Together we are powerful. Together we can win.

Please join us in spreading the word about the Fourth. Do it however you
want. We aren't your bosses; we aren't in charge.
