to meet Afghan leader

MALALAI JOYA

And to raise money for organizations and charities benefiting
Afghan women and children

Featuring renowned South Asian performers of traditional music
and a delicious South Asian Indian buffet.

Performers
Alpen Sheth-Tabla and Vocals, Sonny Lalchandani-Sitar, Levi Ali-Doumbek,
Michael Dwan Singh-Sarangi
Alpen Sheth is a student of Indian Classical Music who studies tabla and
classical vocals.
Sonny Lalchandani studies Indian Classical Music on sitar. He is currently
studying Contemporary Improvisation at the New England Conservatory of
Music, integrating sitar with contemporary musical forms.
Levi Ali is one of Boston's finest doumbek players. He is regularly featured
at local venues and plays at Medieval and Bellydance Festivals across the
nation.
Michael Dwan Singh plays sarangi (translated as "a hundred colours"), an
exceedingly rare bowed instrument with origins across Northern India,
Pakistan and Afghanistan preserved by a select few musicians. Michael is one
of only a handful of performers in the US. He is also an experienced tabla
player and singer.
